Oliver opened Inspire Physical Therapy in April of 2007 to create an environment for optimal patient care.
He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy at the University of Vermont, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. After graduation, he went to work at a physical therapy clinic located at the renowned Green Mountain Valley School ski academy. In December of 2005, Oliver's interest in biomechanics and movement patterns led him to become one of the first twelve therapists in the country to be certified in Postural Restoration. He has presented to physicians, rehab specialists, universities, and ski coaches on this approach.
Oliver enjoys working with clients who are motivated to play an active role in their own health and well-being. He has built up a reputation for helping clients with complex issues. Many of his clients have tried various other treatments before finding the help they needed at Inspire Physical Therapy.
Oliver's clients can be:
- Athletes of all ages and skill levels who are injured and want to get back to their sport
- People whose busy daily lives put stress on their bodies either from taking care of their kids and homes, working in front of a computer screen for hours each day, or doing hard physical labor
- Retirees who want to hike, golf, ski, or play with their grandkids
Oliver has an extensive background in alpine skiing which includes: attending ski academies in Switzerland and Norway, racing for the British National Ski Team (representing them at the 1996 World Championships), and racing for the University of Vermont Ski Team. He has treated skiers of all ages and abilities from novices to national team athletes. Since 2011, Oliver has been heavily involved with the Vermont Alpine Injury Research Group, which brings together the rehab and coaching teams from all of the Vermont ski academies and colleges. They have an annual meeting in May to share knowledge and keep young ski racers healthy while performing at the top level of their sport.
Besides skiing, Oliver loves to run, bike, and just be active with his wife Jessica and two daughters Anna and Sarah. Oliver is currently a Cat 2 road racer, riding for the 1K2GO biking team.
